ELPA’s WONROS® platform treats the wheel-rail contact as a controllable maintenance interface. The portfolio covers trackside, onboard and marshalling-yard applications with dedicated composite materials.
In practice: apply the right friction-modifying material at the right wheel-rail contact zone, then measure whether wear or noise improves.

WONROS® trackside, onboard and marshalling-yard systems plus proprietary friction-management materials and pilot engineering.
The system should never be reduced to ‘rail grease’. ELPA uses controlled application systems and dedicated composite friction modifiers for specific wheel-rail mechanisms.
Trackside application system for controlled friction management on rails.
Best for: curves, station approaches, metro, tram and mainline hotspots
Onboard compressed-air application of friction-management material.
Best for: vehicle-mounted flange or top-of-rail treatment
Onboard airless/contact application architecture.
Best for: tram and metro vehicles where low-air-demand installation is useful
Specialist treatment system for hump-yard retarders.
Best for: marshalling-yard noise and wear problems
Dedicated composite friction-management materials for the corresponding systems.
Best for: recurring lifecycle material supply
Engineering, safety validation and measured field trials before broad deployment.
Best for: new networks and Indonesian qualification
Gauge face, top of rail, flange, retarder or another defined contact zone.
Match the application method to the network and vehicle.
Dose the dedicated composite material where it is needed.
Track wear, noise and operational behaviour before expanding the program.
Wheel and rail damage starts at the contact interface. A controlled friction strategy can address the mechanism upstream, but it must remain inside the required adhesion and braking envelope.
Before: wear and noise are treated mainly after they appear.
After: the wheel-rail interface becomes an engineered part of lifecycle maintenance.
CBP works with ELPA in Slovenia to define hotspots, pilot conditions, application method, material route, installation and lifecycle consumables before broad deployment.
Start with the location, curve/track geometry, vehicle type and problem evidence. CBP will build the ELPA pilot route.
